Pilot Paper Machine

Currently used by Two Rivers Paper Co to make a range of speciality papers for commercial customers, our Pilot Paper Machine was built in 1902 for Manchester City Corporation to be installed in their Municipal Technical College (now known as Manchester University). The machine remained here until the 1960’s when it was moved to Bury College and became the Paper Industry’s training machine. Gifted to Apsley Paper Trail in 2006, the charity has spent over £150,000 installing the machine in Frogmore Mill so that it can continue to play an active role in paper production, visitor demonstrations and a number of testing, tarining and development projects....
