Apsley Mills Cottage Facilities

The Cottage Tudor Room

tudorroomThe Tudor Room is one of The Paper Trail’s many historic features. The north wing of Apsley Cottage dates back to the 16th century when a flour mill stood on the site.

The present room, previously known as the “Service Room”, had long been in use for Board meetings and other gatherings but at the time of the addition of the East and South wings in 1933 was reconstructed in 16th century style as “a beautiful room where the House of Dickinson could entertain important visitors to Apsley – especially those from overseas”.

Used ever since as the John Dickinson Stationery Company’s Board Room, it retains the furnishings installed by Miss Hay upon its reconstruction, an open fireplace and views of the private Cottage garden. The boardroom table will comfortably seat 12 and the room can accommodate up to 16 delegates.

Approx size:

Length 8 metres (26’)
Width 4.9 metres (19’)
Height 2.9 metres (9’ 9”)
